How?
MIGR-AGE adopts a qualitative multi-sited approach that is based on the combination of 5 methods:
Literature Review: Grounding the research in existing academic literature.
Policy Analysis: Analyzing policies and programs in Canada, Italy, and Colombia that regulate access to care services for migrants’ elderly parents.
Stakeholder Interviews:
- Local practitioners (care service managers, social workers, care workers, NGOs, and union officers).
- Colombian adult migrants.
- Ageing parents of Colombian adult migrants.
Participatory Video Making: Co-creating 2 short participatory videos with research participants.
Restitution Meetings: Presenting and discussing preliminary results with participants and stakeholders in each context.
